This was the first project we funded and the work was completed by professionals at The Momentous Institute in Dallas, Texas. We started with two classrooms at FACES Preschool Program.
Stephanie Thompson , the principal at the FACES Pre-K program, has been on our team for seven years. In the first year we implemented Momentous Institute's social emotional learning curriculum, Changemakers, in two classrooms. Educators from Momentous Insitute were able to visit the classrooms, gathering important social emotional learning data that confirmed the approach improved students' social success in the two classrooms. The next year the program was used in all 12 Pre-K classrooms at FACES and is currently being used in all 24 Pre-K classrooms in Glynn County. Ms. Thompson reports that the teachers in the Pre-K classrooms value the tools that Changemakers provides to support students as they develop the social and emotional skills necessary to succeed in school.
